WA-2X2m8N using (NaI(Tl) or BGO scintillator plus 
Neutron Scintillation are members of Technical 
Associates rate-of-change based monitoring systems 
designed for checking SNM content of persons, packages, 
or vehicles passing through doorway or gateway. 

Model WA-2X2m8N and WA-2X2m8PN differ from the basic 
WA-2x2 by having 2, 4, or 6 scintillation detector 
assemblies, tuned for the Pu-239 and U-235 gammas, and 
the addition of Neutron Scintillation detectors mounted 
on posts beside roadway, in overhead structures, on 
either side of a door or gateway, or in underground 
coffins below the roadway.

They include computer software configured for:

1. Time and date of passage.

2. Net-after-background-subtraction reading in the 
  Pu-239 and U-235 windows.

3. Alarm if preset activity is exceeded.

4. Activation for "Safe to Proceed" signal.

5. Have extra capacity for accepting information from 
  outside source as to vehicle I.D., weight of vehicle, 
  cargo of vehicle and source of vehicle. (vehicle 
  monitor only)

Also included, for vehicle monitor, are sensor systems 
for roadway space occupancy and optionally a driver 
I.D. reader and transmitter. 

Detectors are contained in rugged, splash proof NEMA-4 
cases with directional shielding.

Detectors are mounted ordinarily in posts beside 
roadway or on either side of a door or gateway. Drawing 
for recommended post and installation are included in 
the instrument package. Actual post furnishing and 
mounting are the responsibility of the purchaser.
